Is Nearshoring the Future of IT Outsourcing?
Nearshoring is reshaping IT outsourcing in Europe. This article explores why tech companies are shifting toward nearby partners, what benefits they gain, and the challenges they face.
We had the honor of welcoming the young medalists from the International AI Olympiad to our company. Their dedication, talent, and vision for the future are a reminder of why supporting the next generation of tech talent is so important for the development of the IT industry in Serbia.
This week, Cubes had the pleasure of hosting four brilliant young minds in computer science and artificial intelligence – Mihailo Jančević, Nemanja Majski, Miloš Milutinović, and Uroš Kostadinović, along with their mentor, Professor Vladimir Milovanović.
The team achieved outstanding results on the global stage, bringing home gold and silver from the prestigious AI Olympiad in Riyadh. Their story caught the attention of our entire tech community, and we wanted to say thank you and offer our support as they take their next steps.
The informal meetup was a chance for us to show appreciation and to let them know they’re not alone—that IT companies in Serbia recognize their work and want to see them succeed. Our conversation covered the value of discipline, continuous learning, and consistency—core traits for anyone pursuing excellence in software engineering or any branch of technology.
“For young talents like Mihailo, Nemanja, Miloš, and Uroš, this is more than just one victory—it’s their first real step into the world of innovation, artificial intelligence, and the wider tech ecosystem,” said our COO, Aleksandar Stanojević. “We want them to know we’re here to support their journey.”
During their visit, our team had the opportunity to hear more about the Olympiad itself—a global competition that gathers the best high school minds in AI and data science. The students shared experiences about their preparation, challenges, and the international friendships they built along the way.
Professor Milovanović highlighted just how valuable their success is, especially considering that Serbia still lacks specialized AI programs in schools. Their achievement proves what’s possible when IT education meets determination and self-driven learning.
We were especially excited to learn that the Olympiad team has already started designing tasks for future competitors, continuing the cycle of knowledge and helping mentor the next generation. Many of them are also planning to pursue studies in software development, AI engineering, and related fields.
This inspiring visit reminded us how crucial it is to support young people who want to build a career in the technology sector. We hope to see more tech companies in Serbia step up and create similar initiatives.
“Supporting young people dedicated to growth and learning is key to the development of both the IT industry and society as a whole. We encourage other companies in the digital industry to get involved, recognize their achievements, and offer opportunities for growth,” Aleksandar added.
Investing in future-ready professionals is not just a trend—it’s a smart and necessary move. These young minds are already shaping what’s next in AI and software. Let’s make sure they have everything they need to succeed.
